The Archdiocese of Taipei, home to over 20,000 urban indigenous faithful, continues to strengthen pastoral care under the guidance of Fr. Arturo Morales, CMF, chaplain for the Aboriginal Tribes in Taiwan. Addressing the shortage of ordained ministers, the Our Lady of Indigenous Pastoral Center in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, provides regular formation for lay apostles to actively participate in pastoral and evangelization work.

On January 25, 2026, 32 newly trained lay ministers took an oath of service and were officially commissioned by Archbishop John Hung Shan-chuan, marking a significant step in empowering the local Church to reach and serve its indigenous communities more effectively.
