Strengthening Mission: East Asia Delegation Begins Canonical Visit in Hong Kong

Fr. Jijo Kandamkulathy, CMF, Major Superior of the East Asia Delegation (EAD), has officially begun a canonical visitation to the Claretian community in Hong Kong, taking place from September 23 to 28, 2026.

Far more than a routine administrative review, a canonical visit is an extraordinary act of governance rooted in universal and congregational law. Designed to deepen unity, direct mission goals, and foster fraternity, the visitation invites the Major Superior to step directly into the daily rhythms of the local members—listening openly to their aspirations, shared challenges, and pastoral realities.

A central element of the week includes a plenary community meeting, aimed at clarifying Hong Kong’s specific mission objectives while strengthening the spirit of fraternal co-operation for the broader good of the Congregation and the Church.
