To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Catholic Church in Taiwan, the Archdiocese of Taipei held a memorial event at Keelung Sacred Heart High School on January 3. The celebration featured a thanksgiving Mass presided over by the Archbishop, attended by the Holy See’s representative in China, local clergy, and nearly 400 faithful.
The event also included a special lecture on four centuries of Catholic missionary history in Taiwan, kicking off a series of activities honoring the Church’s long-standing presence. Among the speakers was Fr. Francisco “Paco” Carin, CMF, who shared insights on the enduring legacy of Catholic mission work in the region.
