Diocese of Macau Marks 450th Anniversary with Solemn Mass and Opening Ceremony

To commemorate the 450th anniversary of its foundation, the Diocese of Macau held a solemn Mass and the Opening Ceremony, “Lux Vera – Passage of True Light,” at 7:00 p.m. on the anniversary evening at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady. The celebration was presided over by the Bishop of Macau, D. Stephen Lee Bun Sang, and concelebrated by around one hundred priests from parishes and religious congregations.

The Cathedral was filled to capacity, prompting the opening of additional venues—the Costa de Vaz Hall and the Third Campus Hall of the Diocesan College of São José—to accommodate nearly one thousand faithful who gathered to participate in and witness this historic milestone.
